WELL FOLKS
THERE IS NO BETTER FISHING THEN IN MINNESOTA
ESPECIALLY IF YOUR FATHER WAS A GREAT
FISHERMEN Some
say that the age of chivalry is past, that the spirit of
romance is dead. The age of chivalry is never
past, so long as there is a wrong left unredressed on
earth."

"A good conscience is
a continual Christmas"
Benjamin Franklin
By the time your
editor was nine and a half years of age, I
had developed the reputation as a great
"lake" fishermen. My father had taught
me how to tie flies and what colors to use
during the various seasons. One day
one of our neighbors had heard from another
fishermen neighbor that your editor albeit a
lad, was fun to go fishing with. Well
he asked my family and we were off to fish
in the great state of Minnesota. I can
still remember him going to the bait shop,
buying his minnows and worms and thought it
was odd that I did not want him to purchase
any of these accoutrements for me!
I remember him renting a boat, and we
went out on one of the lakes. Because
it was spring, I knew that a flashing
certain color fly would be the best.
So I dropped my fly into the water.
Well by the end of the day, after all he
caught were perch or throwbacks, and I had
my Sunnies, Croppies, and so forth, we had a
picture taken. Below please find the
"Minnesota Fishermen Lad" and his catch.
